THE AREA:
The summer house is located about 10 km from Sæby, where there are many shopping opportunities and attractions. The old town, with its pedestrian streets, the area around the church, and the harbor, is an experience. Sæby is worth several visits. It is a very charming market town with good shopping opportunities, attractions, and music on the square. The harbor has many leisure yachts in the summer, and you can buy ice cream and fresh fish here, and the maritime atmosphere with sailboats, cafes, and shops is full of life.
Sæby is a market town that will be 500 years old in 2024. In the old town is the monastery church of St. Mariæ. In this area, there is also Sæby Miniby, with houses from the year 1900, the Coastal Museum, the Sæby Watermill, and various exciting artisans in the old town around Algade. On the outskirts of the town is an attractive 18-hole golf course and Sæbygaard Castle, which is also worth a visit.
A few kilometers from Lyngså, in the village of Voerså, there is a small natural harbor and by the coast, there is a slightly larger harbor, protected by Denmark's longest pier. Canoes, pedal boats, and rowing boats can be rented for a cozy day out on the water. There are also plenty of fishing opportunities – from the pier or in the river. In the river, you can catch trout, perch, and flounder, but remember to buy a fishing license and permit (you can buy a fishing license at the Sæby Tourist Office). The idyllic Sæby is about 10 km north of Lyngså, where you can visit art galleries, enjoy a good meal in one of the restaurants by the charming harbor, or just go shopping in the town's shops.
A little further north lies Frederikshavn – the harbor town with one of Denmark's longest pedestrian streets. Along the pedestrian street and in the side streets, you will find many shops, cafes, and a wide range of restaurants. Children will love a day at the large indoor playground "Fun House", in the Caribbean water park "The Reef" or the exotic palm beach – all in Frederikshavn.

During a visit to Eagleworld, also known as Ørnereservatet, you can see eagles and other birds of prey in their natural habitat.
