Lodshuset is not a luxury holiday home, but an upgraded former holiday camp.
The floors are worn, but the house has been thoroughly cleaned.
The furniture is not new or modern, but it is in good condition and comfortable.
The windows and doors are old, but they can be opened and closed.
A wonderful place – but not a modern one.

At the marina, there is an outdoor sauna overlooking the fjord. Guests staying at Lodshuset have free access to the sauna. It is wood-fired, and firewood is available by the sauna. The sauna needs to be lit approximately 1 hour before use.
Take a dip in the water and finish with a relaxing sauna while enjoying the beautiful view across the fjord.
This large 340 m² holiday home offers some very special possibilities, with room for as many as 33 people. As the name suggests, the house originally served as the home of a maritime pilot and his family.
The house is a former school camp. It is not a modern luxury holiday home, but rather a slightly upgraded version of a former school camp. Do not expect a luxury holiday home.

LAYOUT OF THE HOUSE. See the floor plan in the photo:
Kitchen with seating for 30 people (an air-to-air heat pump is installed here). Ground-floor living room with an additional 8-10 dining seats, sofa areas and TV. The kitchen is designed for preparing food for large groups and has a gas cooker, industrial oven and dishwasher. The kitchen is open-plan with the dining area. A high chair is available.
Activity room (room 5) with pool table, darts and table football (plus heat pump no. 2). Living room on the first floor of approximately 80 m². This can be used as a course/training room. There is a table tennis table, sofa areas/wicker furniture, TV and PlayStation (plus heat pump no. 3).

Room 1: 2 bunk beds + 2 single beds/1 double bed = 6 sleeping places
Room 2: 2 bunk beds = 4 sleeping places
Room 3: 2 bunk beds = 4 sleeping places
Room 4: 3 bunk beds + 1 double bed = 8 sleeping places
Room 5: Activity room (pool table, darts and table football)
Room 6: 2 bunk beds + 2 single beds/1 double bed = 6 sleeping places
Room 7: 3 single beds + 1 double bed / 2 double beds + 1 single bed = 5 sleeping places

This means there are 33 sleeping places in total (11 standard sleeping places and 22 bunk-bed sleeping places). In addition, there is a guest bed that can be placed where required, as well as extra mattresses that can be placed on the floor.

There are 2 large bathrooms, each with two toilets, one shower and 7 washbasins, giving the house a little of its former school-camp atmosphere. A washing machine is also available. Rooms 1 and 6 are the only walk-through rooms when accessing one of the two large bathrooms. There is also a bathroom with shower and toilet located by the stairs leading to the first floor.

The house enjoys a lovely location on a 7,740 m² plot with both a fire pit and a ball field. There is a wonderful large 50 m² west-facing terrace with garden furniture and a charcoal barbecue, as well as a 40 m² south-facing terrace. There are 43 chairs and 3 large outdoor tables.

The house is suitable for family celebrations, birthdays or simply a different kind of holiday, with plenty of space for several families and/or groups of friends at the same time. You may also bring 2 pets. Free internet and a PC/games console are available. The house is heated by a combination of electric heating and heat pumps.

Parking is available on the grounds.

The house is located on Djursland in Udbyhøj Syd, where Randers Fjord meets the Kattegat. The village is surrounded by lovely beaches and is an attractive holiday-home area. Several times a day, the ferry makes the four-minute journey across the fjord between Udbyhøj Syd and Udbyhøj Nord. The ferry is unusual as it is cable-operated and propelled by two winches. Definitely an experience worth trying. From the new 48-metre-long T-shaped bathing jetty, there are excellent opportunities for swimming, fishing and arriving by canoe or kayak.
