When Andy and Karen started their search for a French holiday home in 2004, they came across this old farmhouse in Montreuil-sur-Maine. They rolled up their sleeves and renovated the entire estate over a ten-year period. They left Great Britain for good in 2015 and started renting out their gîtes two years later. Guests were immediately enthusiastic. It isn't hard to see why.
You'll find four terraced gîtes within the grounds. The exterior still looks typically French, but they all feature a modern interior. This specific accommodation sleeps up to 4 guests. The two bedrooms are situated on the first floor and offer nice views of the surrounding fields. Downstairs, you'll find a spacious living area incorporating a lounge and kitchen.
The outdoor spaces are amazing and equipped with all modern comforts. The accommodation comes with its own little garden and terrace right outside your patio doors. You can also make use of the shared covered terrace and heated saltwater swimming pool. Spend all day in the water if you like, or make yourself comfortable on the loungers by the pool.
The region is ideal for walks and cycling tours. There are interesting markets to visit in the nearby villages almost every day of the week. The charming town of Angers, capital city of the region, is also worth a visit and only a 30-minute drive away.
