Cottage in Saint-Caprais

This charming house is perfect to accommodate one or several couples; a group of friends or a family. The large garden lets you enjoy the peace of the place. Here, you are in the middle of the countryside, between the medieval fortress town of Villefranche du Périgord (4.5km) and the small village of Frayssinet le Gélat (5km). The cottage is surrounded by meadows, wheat fields, chestnut groves and oak and pine forests. There are plenty of walk or bike trails. Villefranche du Périgord has all the shops, a bank, post office, a swimming pool open in July and August, tennis courts. There is a very nice bathing lake in Frayssinet le Gélat and among other things a very fine bakery-cake shop! There are plenty of things to see in the region, whether you want to stay local or even go out for the day. You can visit the medieval towns of Sarlat or Cahors, wonderful sites like Rocamadour, Padirac Caves, the superb fortress towns of Monpazier, Domme or Belvès. You can also visit the famous Lascaux or Pech Merle Caves, go for a walk in St Cirq Lapopie and enjoy the wonderful view of the Lot Valley. The region is overflowing with castles like those of Beynac, Bonaguil or Castelnaud...The Cahors Vineyard is very close and opens its cellars to visitors and tasters. You can also enjoy all the local small, village markets.
