Villa in Maroulas

Maroulas is a picturesque medieval village on a slope above the bay of Rethymnon with a kafenion, a herb shop, and the taverna of Papas Nikos who is the local priest. 4 kms below Maroulas there are the hotel suburbs of Platanias and Adelianos Kampos which provide beaches, watersport facilities, supermarkets, shops and restaurants. There are also many good restaurants and tavernas in the area. One of the first buildings in the old village center on the left hand side is Taverna Katerina (150 meters) which enjoys marvellous views of the coast and the Aegean Sea.
