This generous two‑storey cottage in Liana sits just 500 m from the medieval town centre and accommodates up to ten guests. The ground floor welcomes you with a hallway featuring a DVD player, a living room with sofa‑bed, satellite TV and a fireplace, plus a separate dining room with CD player. The large kitchen is fully equipped with a six‑ring cooker, grill oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, fridge‑freezer and radio. You’ll also find two double bedrooms, a bathroom with shower and bidet, and a pantry with washing machine. Upstairs, a second living room with TV leads to three more bedrooms, two additional bathrooms and a quiet study, ideal for work or relaxation. Central heating and free Wi‑Fi ensure cosy comfort, and pets are welcome.

The private, fenced garden offers a true countryside retreat with furniture, barbecue, ping‑pong table, bicycles, parking and even a child’s bed. Multiple indoor living areas, entertainment options (DVDs, music, games), and fireplaces create the perfect balance of shared space and peaceful nooks.

Nestled in Castiglione di Garfagnana, famed for its intact medieval walls, fortress towers and historic churches such as San Pietro and San Michele, the cottage is ideal for heritage walks. Outdoor lovers will enjoy scenic trails through chestnut forests, visits to the Sanctuary of San Pellegrino in Alpe perched high in the Apennines, or exploring the nearby Parco dell’Orecchiella with its rich wildlife. Local trattorias, like Col d’Arciana, Il Casone and Trattoria Bonini, serve hearty Tuscan favourites: fresh pasta, grilled meats, ribollita and local cheeses in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Casa Liana lies at 500m from the lovely village Castiglione Garfagnana, officially declared as one of the most beautifull villages of Italy. We are surrounded by 8 hectares of land with trails for hiking and biking. Lucca, Florence and the Versilia coast are good for daytrips, just as the Cinque Terre in Liguria which is stated as Unesco. Most locations are reachable by car, but also train from the station of Garfagnana Castelnuovo which is only 4km from the house. Of course these cities are great, but we actually advice you to spend most of your time in the Garfagnana area with it's caves of the wind, or Orechiella National Park, with nature as far as you can see, and animals like Deers and even bears! Go for excursions by foot or bike, it's really a great area. Also in summertime there are a lot of events organised in the region, which includes great food everywhere! Have a great holiday!
