Guardea is a nice little town with some nice attractions including churches (San Pietro, San Cesareo, Sant'Egidio and Santa Lucia). In the neighborhood you will also find and monastery (Sant'Illuminiata) from the eleventh century. Here also stayed San Francesco. There are remains of the old castle Poggio (eleventh century). The elegant courtyard is perfect preserved. It is fun to visit Castle Alviano. The castle was built in the Middle Ages as a military fort. From the castle you have a view of the Tiber valley. You can go fishing, hiking and canoeing in the lake Corbara. Nice to visit.
